Aqus Cafe in Petaluma, CA hosted the community based project "Sea and Sky" in 2015. This event took place in the cafe from 8am to 8pm and was inspired by Matisse Cut outs. Anyone could participate who came to the cafe. We had children from 3 years to adults of 80. The participants drew and cut out their own images from the painted colored papers (as Matisse had done for his cutouts) and then placed them on the blue painted wall spaces. Once we took the project down in Aqus we offered it to COTS in Petaluma and it was hung in their Family Center.
